The JVMS is currently looking into resuming our participation in the Spay Jax program. As we obtain new information, we will notify our members.  The following is an exerpt from a recent email from Scott Trebatoski which has been posted with his permission:
The SpayJax program is handled currently on a bid system (this is how it has been since I came in late 2008). The current contract runs through Sept 30th. The winning bid was the following costs:
Cat Neuter                 $35
[$17.50 net cost to city with 100% matching funds provided by FCNMHP]
Cat Spay                   $65       [$32.50 net cost to city with 100% matching funds provided by FCNMHP]
Dog Neuter                $65       [$32.50 net cost to city with 100% matching funds provided by FCNMHP]
Dog Spay                  $100      [$50.00 net cost to city with 100% matching funds provided by FCNMHP]
Lg Dog Spay (>75#)   $175      [$87.50 net cost to city with 100% matching funds provided by FCNMHP]
Those costs include the sterilization surgery any pre- and post- op medication/pain meds and a rabies vaccination. The client cannot be charged any additional fees except for $20 license fee.
With the new fee structure in place and increased license sales we are expecting to be able to open up new opportunities next fiscal year (the money collected this year funds next year's programs).
