Leadership

The JVMS is a leader in veterinary medicine in our community, serving as a public, governmental, and media resource to promote animal welfare and public health.

Education

The JVMS sponsors multiple first class CE meetings per year, bringing in top speakers in the veterinary field to cover a wide variety of topics, including required license topics for Florida (Laws & Rules, Dispensing Controlled Drugs) and Georgia (Laws, Ethics & Professionalism).

Philanthropy

The JVMS gives back to our profession and the community via hosting or participating in local charitable events and via contributions to the UF College of Veterinary Medicine.

Fellowship

The JVMS fosters fellowship for members via dinner meetings, social events and parties.

The Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society is a group of more than 300 veterinarians from Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding areas. Incorporated in the mid-1970’s, the Society provides members with opportunities for fellowship, philanthropy, representation of our profession and promotion of animal welfare.

Our mission is to provide a leadership role in the veterinary profession in North Florida and South Georgia, advocate animal welfare and public health, and promote fellowship among veterinarians.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The JVMS provides over 20 hours of Florida and Georgia approved continuing education for its members each year. Visit our CE page to lean more.

SOCIETY EVENTS

From quarterly business meetings to social gatherings to charity to supporting our UF Veterinary College, the JVMS gets involved.

PHILANTHROPY

The JVMS supports animal related and non-animal related local causes from helping our homeless to assisting sick children to supporting our UF Veterinary College.

LEADERSHIP

From assisting Animal Care and Preventative Services to shaping the regulatory needs of our pets, the JVMS leads the way in our community for animal and public health related causes.
